Namely, within the Argonauta association, since 2007, the “Educational Center for Sustainable Development of the Islands and Coasts of the County of Šibenik-Knin” has been operating as a program and physical point, space, which in 2017 is the Ethnological Collection of Marko Mudronje Rebca. To successfully carry out the activities of the Blue Eco-Patrol, it is necessary to re-establish and physically establish the Education Center as a venue for numerous activities with students, and for this purpose, the Municipality of Murter-Kornati has provided premises in the outpatient building as a project partner.
The renovation of the premises will provide adequate space as an important resource for the long-term and systematic implementation of the extracurricular education program for sustainable development, the Blue Eco-Patrol on the Island of Murter and the wider island and coastal part of the Šibenik-Knin County.
Renovation of the premises began last week, funded through the Blue Eco-Patrol project and the Swiss-Croatian Cooperation Program. The completion and opening of the Center are scheduled for mid-January 2020 when the first activities with students of 7 coastal schools will begin. It is important to note that these premises, with the Argonauta association, will be available for use for various activities and other local stakeholders as co-working space, creating the necessary synergistic impact for better implementation of future sustainable development initiatives and the success of the “Blue Eco-Patrol project”.
