WHAT IS ARGONAUTA?
Argonauta is a non-governmental, non-partisan and non-profit organization that has members, volunteers and employees made up of experts from different areas.
In 2005, Argonauta was born from a group of Murter enthusiasts in response to the growing need for civil society to take care of the nature and environment of the island of Murter and its wider area.
Throughout its current work, the Association has shown itself as an active participant in the discovery, protection and promotion of the buried treasures of cultural and historical heritage and the creation of new values.
Today, Argonauta is present at the local and regional level with the mission of contributing to the sustainable development of the community through the preservation and valorization of heritage, the promotion of civic activism (especially youth) and cross-sectoral cooperation and the development of social entrepreneurship.
To create satisfied people as a part of an active community that manages its own resources, respecting the principles of sustainable development.
Contribute to the sustainable development of the community through the preservation and promotion of heritage, the promotion of civic activism and cross-sectoral cooperation and the development of social entrepreneurship.
HOW WE FINANCED
Most of the funds needed for the functioning of the association and the implementation of the projects are realized through the tender of different donors (ministries, agencies, EU, foundations, business entities, local and regional self-government). Funds awarded for tenders are totally devoted to pre-planned activities and to report donors within this deadline. All funds are directed to contributing to the strategic goals of the association and the development of the organization. Financing our projects and programs depends solely on their quality and competitiveness. Within the association, we also develop social entrepreneurship through which we now have a smaller share of income.
