Murter’s Treasure Colentum.
The Colentum archaeological site is rich in finds from the Liburnian and Roman periods and is considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in the County of Sibenik-Knin. Although relatively little is known about it, research conducted so far has found that it is a locality where once there was a small town rich in houses and holiday villas decorated with mosaics and murals. In 2010, the site was restarted after almost a half-century break, and projects were launched with the main aim of evaluating the Colentum archaeological site.
Larger and smaller projects organized and implemented through the years at the Colentum resulted in significant achievements: the first lookout at the Colentum was arranged, the path connecting Murter and Betina across the Gradina Peninsula was arranged, part of the villa by the sea was explored and a part of the walls was preserved, created the first tourist map of the Colentum archaeological site, information and educational boards were set up at major sites on Gradina Hill. All that has been achieved has contributed to Colentum being recognized today as a potential for the future development of the local community, both by local government and by numerous project donors, both at national and EU level, without which the implementation of these activities would not be possible.
The activities of Colentum-related projects have even adapted the waters to a good set, and yet, the impact of water project production on preschool and lower elementary school children. The most important thing is to pass on the awareness of preserving cultural heritage to the youngest, the activities of the new project implemented by Argonauta in cooperation with partners, “Murter’s Treasure Colentum” are aimed at educating the youngest.
